Ministry Wives Mastermind Group

Ministry Wives Mastermind Group

As a ministry wife, you’re on the front lines as a leader in your community.
Not only are you there to support your spouse and family during all of this uncertainty, but your community and congregation looks to you as you and your husband lead out.

Being a ministry wife is a CALLING from God.

He has given you a specific circle of influence to serve and then has equipped you with unique gifts, skills, passions, and abilities to fulfill His call on your life.
But…..
With all of the changes going on in the world, on a daily or even hourly basis in the midst of this virus, ministry needs have drastically changed in the blink of an eye over the past few weeks.  For the near future, we can’t do things exactly as we have in the past.
You were called into ministry “For such a time as this”, but how do you continue to minister and serve when “the world as we know it” is shut down? ·
  • What does serving with your unique skills and abilities look like now
  • How can you best serve those God has called you to at this time?
  • What does ministry need to look like specifically in your corner of the worl
About me:
I have experience as a PK, missionary, and pastor’s wife. I grew up as a PK, then my husband and our family served as career missionaries on the mission field in Brazil and Mexico.  After serving overseas, we came back to the U.S. where he has served on staff as an associate pastor and then as pastor of a church.  I “get” all that is involved in ministry.
I am a counselor and a life coach.  I have been working virtually since 2012 and am very familiar with building community and serving and ministering to others through online platforms. I would be honored to use MY skills, gifts, abilities, passions, and calling to now serve you so that you may be better equipped to serve in your own ministry fields at this time.

What I am offering….

I am offering a FREE 3-week mastermind group for ministry wives.

What you get and how it works:

  • Weekly video group meeting using the Zoom platform
  • We’ll interact live, face-to-face through an online video session
  • Each meeting will last 1 hour and 15 mintues
  • FB group to connect outside of the video meetings
  • Support, fellowship, and encouragement from a community of like-minded Christian ministry wives, all called to serve their communities and congregations, just like you

Together we will:

  • Support and encourage one another
  • Pray
  • Share ideas and find creative ways to minister to those whom you are called to serve during this unique time
  • Meet for 3 weeks to seek God’s direction for our ministries during this unique, challenging time

Overcome procrastination

“By the yard it’s hard; but inch by inch, anything’s a cinch!”

To overcome procrastination, get your mind off of the huge task in front of you and focus on a single action you can take.

What “inch” will you focus on today?

Assess your energy level and overall health

How’s your energy level? What about your daily health habits?

Ask yourself these questions:
1. What am I doing physically that I should do MORE of?
2. What am I doing that I should do LESS of?
3. What am I not doing that I should START doing if I want to perform at my best?
4. What am I doing today that affects my health that I should STOP doing altogether.

Pick one activity or behavior that you can change immediately to improve your energy level and overall health.

Take time to recharge!

Take one full day off every week. Don’t do anything that will tax your brain — no reading, correspondence, office work, etc. Instead, participate in activities that allow your brain to completely recharge itself. Spend time with your family, go for a walk, enjoy the outdoors, exercise, do something fun, relax, etc. Make the day enjoyable and refreshing!

Which day will you take off this week and what will you do?

How do you respond when God shuts a door?

Have you ever experienced God shutting a door for you?  How did you respond?

Were you upset?  Grateful?  Mad?  Confused? Numb? Excited? Nervous? Peaceful? Anxious?  There are so many other words we could probably use to describe the response you may have had.

So often we pray for God to show us which door He is opening for us to walk through, but sometimes He shuts doors He doesn’t want us to walk through instead.  It’s like a process of elimination.

That seems to be the case for me and my husband.  In our experiences, God has always shut doors before He reveals the open door we are to walk through with Him.  At the time, the shut doors often don’t make sense but we have learned to trust Him as they are always to our benefit and for our good.  I can look back and thank Him for each door He has shut, knowing that it was necessary in order to fulfill the big picture He has for my life.

Here we go again…

This week has been another interesting one for us. As we have been praying for next steps while my husband is healing, God has shut some key doors that I didn’t expect to shut.  We have had 3 major doors shut recently.  You would expect something like that to make you a little nervous and upset, but it has actually given us a sense of peace, not fear, knowing that God shut them.  It has also given us some clarity in options that are “off the table” as we move forward.  (more…)

Personal Summer Update and Prayer Request

Our world turned upside down this summer.

Many people have been asking about my family and John’s health, so I wanted to give an update.

If you’ve followed any of my story at all, you know that my husband and I came back to the States from the mission field with our children 8 years ago due to health reasons.  He was very sick and had to have a couple of surgeries.  This included removing his large intestine and having an ileostomy bag for 2 months before his small intestine was healed enough to take over in place of the large intestine. He’s never been quite the same since then.

This spring, his health took a nose dive and he began having serious breathing issues (he even stopped breathing a few times!) as well as other medical complications.  It was getting harder and harder for him to go about many of his daily activities and his pastoral duties.  In July, he resigned from his position as pastor and he is taking some time this fall to try to heal.   (more…)

Coaching Process

Coaching is typically done by phone.

Coaching by phone is very effective and has many benefits.

  • Coaching by phone allows more flexibility and convenience in scheduling our coaching sessions.
  • Telephone coaching can be done anywhere.  You can connect with me from the comfort and privacy of a location you choose. You can enjoy each session from wherever you feel most comfortable and the sessions can be set to fit your own personal schedule.
  • Telephone coaching is extremely time effective.  You will not spend your valuable time traveling to and from your coaching sessions.
  • When you coach by phone, there are fewer distractions, so your level of focus in enhanced.
  • Coaching conversations by phone create an emotional comfort zone and allow you to connect more easily and communicate without felling pressured to  make eye contact or communicate non-verbally.
  • Telephone coaching does not have geographic limitations.  You are able to work with any coach you choose, not just those in your area.  as a coach, I am able to work with clients from anywhere in the world through telephone and Skype.

Each session lasts 50 minutes.

You have the option of sending me a completed prep form the day before each session.

The prep form is a chance for you to reflect on the time in between sessions.  It gives you and opportunity to share your accomplishments and the progress that you made in working toward your goals, obstacles or resistance you faced, and what you would like to focus on for the coming session.  (Most of the real work in coaching is done by you in between sessions!)

What to expect on a call

You will call me at our scheduled time and we will begin by briefly discussing your prep form (if completed) and the action steps you committed to take during the past session.  Then we will move on to explore the topic you would like to focus on for that session.

Near the end of the session, we will begin to develop strategies and an action plan that will move you toward your goal.

We will also develop the accountability you would like to put in place for those actions.

During the whole coaching process, YOU determine the agenda and steps you would like to take, not me.

What’s your motivation for change?

Have you experienced a lot of change?  Are you facing a change now? Change is hard.  It requires investment, thought, and time.  It’s rarely quick.

When you hear the word “change”, what do you immediately think of?  Maybe words like “process, anxiety, uncomfortable, or even opportunity” came to mind.

What are you most afraid of about change?  Could it be possible failure, the cost, the risk, or the unknown? Maybe it’s fear of starting over again or second-guessing whether you can do it or if it’s the right thing to do.

What motivates you to change?  What propels you to change?  Have you ever thought about that?  It could be relief from pain or a desire for something new. Maybe the circumstances are forcing a change.

Your Turn:

Let’s do a little visualization exercise.  Grab a piece of paper or your journal for this one.   (more…)
