Life Balance, Living intentionally
When you hear the phrase “life balance”, what comes to mind? Does it seem like something that is attainable? Do you have life balance? Do you wish you could have even just one day (or maybe even 1 hour) of balance?
We’re so busy in our culture. We seem to always be crowding in just one more thing. But instead of accomplishing anything, we often create big gaps across the various categories of our lives. Our to-do lists can be never-ending. (more…)
Goals, Living intentionally
Do you ever sit around and think about the future? When we’re young, we often think about what life will be like when we grow up. Who and what will be become? But as an adult, we sometimes quit dreaming or thinking about the future. It’s more of a day-to-day existence for some. Focused on the present.
Maybe you had a dream and it died. Maybe you never really had a plan or dream. You just waited to see how it would all work out on its own. (more…)

Are you a snob?
Before you get worried, this post probably isn’t what you think. I suggest reading it all the way through. 🙂
I realize I’m a snob when it comes to certain things. For example, I only use certain brands of products for some things like dish detergent, or paper towels. I also realize I’m a snob when it comes to bath towels. Let me explain. (more…)
Life Balance, Living intentionally, Transformation
I’m going to…..
With a new year, we sometimes get these big ideas that “I’m finally going to ______”. Often, one of those things we decide to do is organize our life or one of our living spaces. We see it even in the stores. They capitalize on everyone’s fresh start and big ideas (whether they follow through or not) for the year. Go into any store and you’ll see displays of totes and other organizing tools.

Being a Godly Woman, Life Balance, Living intentionally, Transformation
I’ve been thinking about this post for a while. The topic’s a little painful, but something God’s really been working on me about. Our culture today is self-absorbed. “Lovers of themselves”. All about “me”.
I’ve been trying to do a little self-reflection and really align my life with God’s plan for me in this area. I’ll admit that I catch myself doing what I’m writing about as much as anyone else. Ok, well, maybe not as much as some…. But, in all sincerity, it’s so common in our culture today and we don’t even really think anything about all of our updates, photos of ourselves, bragging, and letting everyone know what we’re doing . (Every. Single. Thing. we do)

Being a Godly Woman, Living intentionally, Transformation
As a coach and pastor’s wife, I really enjoy working with women who want to live intentionally and align their life with God’s desires for them. One of the most exciting things is to watch them grow spiritually and deepen their faith. It’s sometimes easy to begin that relationship with Christ, but it can be really hard to “live it out” on a day-to-day basis — especially when hard times come.
One of the things that I love about coaching is that we evaluate where we currently are and then can take the necessary steps to move forward and grow. Even if you’re not where you want to be yet, it’s ok. The important thing is being honest about where you really are currently and then you can work to change that. Often times we try to avoid looking at the reality or just find a way to work around it so that we don’t have to face it. But by getting a good look and honestly evaluating it, we can make deep, significant changes that last. (more…)
Goals, Life Purpose, Living intentionally
My big dream is to have a small, farm-like setting with a red barn for my coaching and counseling center.
I envision sunflowers growing outside and a big porch with rocking chairs and a porch swing. I even know the colors I’ll use and how it will “look” and “feel” inside. (If you know me, you know I love to paint rooms….and I’m all about color! Should people really get this giddy when they think about painting stuff? ) I want it to be a peaceful place where people feel welcome and relaxed. I want it to be a safe place where they can say what’s on their hearts, dream, set goals, and take steps to move forward into all that God has for their lives. (more…)
Adoption, Family, Life Purpose, Living intentionally
My family just finished a very unique and exciting week. It left me with many mixed emotions. I feel so blessed to have experienced what we did and am truly humbled, grateful and joyful that God would allow us to be a part of this. At the same time, it makes me homesick.
Let me explain….. (more…)
Goals, Life Balance, Living intentionally
How do you spend your time?
- Where is your focus?
- What are your priorities?
- What do you say yes to?
- Do you spread yourself too thin?
- Do you take on a lot of projects or participate in a lot of things, only to find that you really can’t give them your best because you have over-committed?
- Do you have a hard time saying no?
- Do you finish strong when you start something?
- Do you even finish?
There are so many things we can fill our lives with. Good things. There’s nothing wrong with that. But do our lives get so overcrowded with good things that we have no room for the best things? (more…)
Life Balance, Living intentionally, Relationships
Have you ever stopped to think about the things in your life that give you energy or that zap it right out of you?
Energy Drainers
Let’s start with energy drainers.
- What are the things in your life that just drain you?
You can feel it…..your mood is different, you might dread something, you could feel pain and hurt…. It could be things in your environment such as clutter or disorder. What about unfinished projects? Or even things such as people, to-do lists, e-mail and text messages, unmet needs, emotions, pressure at work, distractions…….. (I think you get the idea). (more…)
